Eligibility Requirements
Physicians must have at least one year in an accredited internship or residency in
a primary care specialty MD's (Medical Doctors) ACGME(Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) and DOs (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) AOA (American Osteopathic Association).
Physicians must be licensed to practice in Florida.
Graduates of foreign medical schools must have completed a PGY-1 (post graduate year #1) in the United States in primary care in an accredited program as listed above.
Have passed all steps of the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) and/or COMLEX (Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination).

A Florida license now requires two years of approved training in the United States for foreign medical graduates.
An MPH (Master of Public Health) degree is also required; however, arrangements have been made to obtain this over the two years of the Residency without cost to the resident.
