The Preventive Medicine/Public Health Residency Program offers physicians learning opportunities to develop and enhance their level of competency in public health practice, program planning and administration. As a part of the residency program, (NSU) Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine provides the residents with the academic experience required to complete their Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. The program is open to both osteopathic and allopathic physicians and is accredited by both the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the American Osteopathic Association. Physicians completing the program are eligible to sit for the preventive medicine board exams. |

Please submit the following: |
1. Letter to the Program Director, requesting admission-including availability dates. |
2. Completed and notarized Application form. |
3. Curriculum Vitae. |
4. Florida Medical License number. |
5. Evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates if applicable. |
6. Certification of a PGY-1 year completed in the United States. |
7. Green Card if applicable. |
8. Personal Statement. |
This program does not support visas at this time. |

From July 2000 through June 2010, of the 30 physicians completing the program, six are working in Public Health settings within the State of Florida, nine are working within the field of public health in other states, eight are working in preventive medicine/occupational medicine, one is completing a second residency program, one is in the field of scientific research and six are working in fields outside of public health. Our residents are moving into public health leadership positions after completing the program. Over 75% of our graduates are now in positions of leadership in Public Health. |
